Bill Belichick Spotted Passed Out on a Boat A Week Before Playoff Game

Bill Belichick might be causing a distraction for the Patriots in latest boat incident.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was spotted passed out on a boat this weekend with a lady friend in front of all sorts of unidentified drinks and paraphernalia, just days before a divisional round matchup against former assistant Bill O'Brien and the Houston Texans. One would think that a head coach has a lot of game-planning to do in the lead up to the most important game of the year—especially against a man like O'Brien who knows the ins and outs of the Patriot Way—and that his time could be better served watching film and developing a strategy to lead his team to victory rather than doing God knows what on a boat. It might be time to start asking whether Belichick even gets what this is all about.

Sure, it's his day off and he can do what he wants, but these are the playoffs. What about the rest of his staff and his players who are depending on him? What kind of example is this for Matt Patricia and Josh McDaniels? Do you think Tom Brady is somewhere out there on a boat with a woman sprawled all over him in front of God and Patriots Nation? No, he's probably sleeping and recovering, so he can be the best quarterback he can be.

Maybe it's nothing and the Pats will be fine Saturday night, but the last thing you want to be for your team is a distraction. And at this time of year especially, you should have a singular focus: just Do Your Job. Hard to do anything when you're passed out on a boat.
