Boston University Hockey Announcer Goes Absolutely Bonkers on Goal Call

This truly is one of the greatest hockey calls you'll ever hear.

Boston University women's hockey beat Minnesota 6-5 in overtime on Saturday and play-by-play man Max Walpoff decided the best way to celebrate was to sound his barbaric yawp over the rinks of the world. The video picks up with about three-and-a-half minutes left to play in overtime, and a face-off in Minnesota's zone. At this point, things are very calm, almost too calm, but things go berserk soon enough.

As the Terriers get closer to the crease, Walpoff's pulse rises ever so slightly, and he really begins to believe once the puck touches senior Natalie Flynn's stick. Then she scores and one of the all-time great hockey calls begins:

FLYNN SCORES! NATALIE FLYNN! NATALIE FLYNN! NATALIE FLYNN!!! GOOD MORNING, GOOD AFTERNOON, AND GOODNIGHT MINNESOTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Natalie Flynn the captain with a multi-goal game! I HAVE LOST MY VOICE WITH EXCITEMENT!!!!

The most important characteristic play-by-play man can have is accuracy, and Max Walpoff is accurate as shit.

Adding to the excitement was that the game-winner came from an unlikely source. Before her goal earlier in the game, Natalie Flynn had not scored a goal since her sophomore year. Here's to hoping BU has a few more players with multi-year scoring droughts to push one over the line.
