NFL Reschedules Chiefs-Steelers Start Time Due to Impending Ice Storm

Meteorologists were prediciting freezing rain for the AFC divisional playoff in Kansas City—and nobody, it seemed, wanted to be there.

Sunday's AFC divisional playoff between the Chiefs and the Steelers, which originally had been scheduled to kick off at 1:05 PM ET, has officially been pushed back due to an impending ice storm in Kansas City, the NFL announced in a statement on Friday. Citing "public safety concerns," the league has moved the start time to 8:20 PM ET.

The NFL anticipates that local crews can use the seven-hour difference to clear roads, as the storm is predicted to improve throughout Sunday. It's always a risk to put so much faith in meteorologists, but it's probably a frugal business decision, as the lowest ticket prices went plummeting from $134 last week to $27 on Friday, with over 7,000 tickets still available on StubHub, according to USA TODAY. The new kickoff time might make the game a little more enticing to fans, but it's hard to tell whether the move comes too late for the NFL to regain control of its power source (a.k.a. money).

As for what hot-shot Travis Kelce has to say about Sunday?
