What kind of special blend of herbs and spices has been thrown into this Notre Dame vs. Syracuse game? Whatever it is, it has been absolutely tasty.The first play of the game, above, kicked things off mightily with a textbook connection from Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer to the delightfully-named Equanimeous St. Brown. That's a 79-yarder there that saw St. Brown shrug off a paltry four backfield Orangemen. Delights.Then, Syracuse came back with their own 75-yard drive for their own six on the board, but ND's Jarron Jones outright rejected the extra point, for Cole Luke to scoop it up for a cool two points:And Kiser didn't want to St. Brown feeling like their connection was just a one-time deal—or that special teams should get all the glory—so he hit him on a deep run down the sideline for a 50-yard bomb that left St. Brown with only 25 yards to walk the ball in for another touchdown.Notre Dame But Syracuse didn't want to let ND think that they were the only ones with some long-range artillery: Syracuse QB Eric Dungey hit WR Amba Etta-Tawo for a 72-yarder that picked his cornerbacks lock. All that was left was a waltz into some orange and blue paint.Syracuse's extra point went in this time, but ND felt like they wanted to get in some more cardio work, so CJ Sanders rocked a 92-yard TD that melted Syracuse defense like a blowtorch to candle wax.Oh, and did we mention that all of this—everything above—was only in the first five minutes?Stay tuned for updates:Yeah, Notre Dame ended up smoking Syracuse 50-33. They needed a bit of a pick-me-up after getting wrecked by three of their first four opponents, dropping from No. 10 to unranked. While allowing 44 points from Syracuse is telling about how their defense is going this year, at least they're showing high-octane offense?
