Roma Topples Juventus in Glorious Win

La Vecchia Signora stood little chance against the Giallorossi

GOLAZO! @JamesRodriguez would be proud of @Miralem_Pjanic's free kick! #RomaJuve #SerieA http://t.co/YdpW44Tejj

Roma defeated rivals Juventus in an emphatic 2-1 win on Sunday, marked by the Miralem Pjanic's immaculate free kick (above). You could go so far back as the 1981 disallowed Maurizio Turone goal to describe how big this win is for Roma. Or just to La Vecchia Signora (the Old Lady) knocking off the Giallorossi (The Yellow-Reds) for the top slot in Serie A, only to later go ahead and leave Roma in the group stages dust while they took on Barcelona in the Champions League final. Either way, victory was sweet. Context, people.

Even their second goal was an impressive header off of a high-lofted ball.

Quick response from @OfficialASRoma! @EdDzeko nips it past the keeper! #RomaJuve #SerieA http://t.co/QBi6TljFXu

And here's Juventus's boring, stupid, stupid goal—if you're into that kind of stuff.

Better late than ever, @PauDybala_JR gives @Juventus their first goal of the season. #serieA #RomaJuve http://t.co/V6rNwyIQ8O

The yellow-reds knock off the old lady. Sounds like a police report for a prescription overdose, but no. This is just soccer. Very serious soccer.
