After a Houston Astros fan tweeted about wanting to trade Bregman, the third baseman got real salty with him in the DMs—and then later deleted his account.

One Houston Astros fan really wanted the team to trade for Chris Sale and thought the best way of making that trade happen would have been to make current third baseman Alex Bregman its centerpiece. Bregman's Twitter handle was never linked to the conversation, yet somehow he became aware of it and was not particularly happy about it. So, he slide into the fan's DMs.

Here's a portion of the discussion that kickstarted this whole thing:

And here is Bregman's headfirst slide:

A lot of people will rightly be drawn to the wonderfully typo'd "flees on the nutsack of society" line, but I'd just like to set aside some time for his "I'm not mad, I actually find this funny" opener.

The fan handled this whole thing about as well as one could, correctly noting that wanting to center a deal for Chris Sale around Bregman is actually an incredible compliment. The Red Sox ace currently has a 2.75 ERA, .901 WHIP, and is striking out 12.5 batters per nine innings in a year when the ball is flying out of the park. Pretty good!

Since Bregman wasn't tagged anywhere in the conversation, that means either he or someone close to him was searching his name on Twitter, which is a thing no one should ever do. It only leads to pain and misery, and ignorance in these cases is always bliss.

Bergman, taking the best advice anyone could ever receive, deleted his account.
