In the fifth inning against the Twins last night, Jason Vargas took a comebacker to balls off the bat of Aaron Hicks. He recovered quickly enough and got the out at first, but he had to gather himself for a bit after time was called. Manager Ned Yost and the trainer came out to check on him, but he was OK and pitched another inning before the bullpen came in and closed the game out for a 3-1 Kansas City win.After the game, Vargas confirmed that he was indeed hit in the balls and told reporters the ball got him "where you don't want to get hit." Yost, however, was even more colorful.
