Son of Indians GM Mike Chernoff Spills the Beans About His Dad's Intentions for Lindor on Live Broadcast

It's been a helluva 24 hours for kid reporters. Yesterday, there was some big hubbub about whether or not an SI For Kids kid reporter's question at a March Madness presser was legit (it was). And then last night, Cleveland Indians GM Mike Chernoff's son Brody went on air and gave a couple of radio announcers a big scoop about his dad's intentions to give shortstop Francisco Lindor a fatty, re-upped contract.

There are a couple of gems in this interview with Brody, but the good stuff starts around 3'09":

Brody graciously humors Tribe radio announcer Tom Hamilton, as he tells tale of his dad staying up late to secure Edwin Encarnación's contract. But when Hammy jokingly tries to tease out some signing rumors, Brody lets slip that his dad is trying to lock down Francisco Lindor for a whopping seven-year contract. How was Brody supposed to know he shouldn't have said that?

Well, either way, I'm sure it's not too big of a surprise to hear that the Indians want to hold on to Lindor, who's coming off of a red hot World Baseball Classic with Puerto Rico. But it's just too bad that that's likely the last we'll ever hear from little Chernoff. He provided great banter, but daddy won't want him around a microphone for a long time.
