Drew Brees Finds Brandin Cooks For Surgical 50-Yard Strike

Drew Brees and Brandin Cooks team up for a 50-yard strike that landed perfectly in Cooks's hands and just out of reach for the defender.

Drew Brees gave Nick Foles a run for his money for best deep ball of the day with a great long strike of his own against the Packers tonight. Brees and Brandin Cooks teamed up for a 50-yard touchdown to put the Siants up 23-16 on the Packers with just over five minutes left in the third quarter. The pass had just enough velocity and was put in such a tiny window that it landed right in Cooks's hands just before Tramon Williams made a great diving attempt at knocking it away.

Cris Collinsworth was in the middle of talking about the Saints going deep (though he imagined targeting Jimmy Graham) when Brees dropped back and found Cooks streaking down the middle of the field. Brees would eventually get Graham involved with a 22-yard touchdown some three minutes later to put the Saints up 30-16 on the chilled out and relaxed Packers.
