Good morning, America. It's May 18, 2016. Welcome to the VICE Sports World News Roundup. Be sure to stop by every morning for more headlines from around the world.

Rafa Benitez has agreed to stay on at Newcastle United, despite the club's relegation from the Premier League. There aren't too many Champions League winners in Europe's second division.

After months of speculation, Chelsea captain John Terry has signed a new one-year contract with the club. He's been good for Chelsea:

Chelsea has signed a £60 million per year kit sponsorship deal with Nike. The deal is currently the world's second most lucrative. Manchester United earns £75 million from Adidas. Following Chelsea's deal, Barcelona reportedly also signed with Nike, but for €100 million or about £77 million.

I imagine David De Gea must be pretty disappointed right now. Petr Cech won the Premier League Golden Glove on the last goal of the Premier League season—and it was an own goal.

Russian athletics could be in even more trouble. The entire team is already facing a ban from the Rio Olympics, and now the IOC is investigating new claims that Russian spies helped cover up doping at the Sochi Games.
