Wisconsin Safety Tried to Line Up with Alabama Offense after Concussion

Wisconsin safety Mike Caputo got a concussion and tried to join the Alabama huddle because he had no idea where he was on the field.

Wisconsin safety Mike Caputo had a very scary moment tonight after an Alabama third-and-short run play, and had no idea where he was on the field. It looked like Caputo went low trying to tackle Derrick Henry and may have hit his head into Henry's knee or someone else in the scrum of players. Whatever the case, immediately after the play, he was motionless for a brief moment and then really struggled to get back up to his feet. He bumped into Alabama lineman Cam Robinson and they embraced for a second before Caputo kept walking back into the Alabama backfield, apparently so disoriented that he thought he was lining up with his own team on defense.

Robinson and Bama receiver Richard Mullaney tried to point it out to him and/or the referees and Caputo simply pointed back at Robinson as if to say "Good looking out, man." Finally, someone realized what was going on and the refs blew the whistle to stop the clock. Wisconsin trainers met Caputo at midfield and helped him trot off to the sideline and he has since been ruled out of the game.
