Cyrus Jones Returns Punt 54 Yards for a Touchdown, Alabama Explodes in Third Quarter

Just when the game was getting interesting, it's over.
Yeeesh.

Cyrus Jones just gave Alabama a 24-0 lead over Michigan State which is kind of a shame, because with the first moments of excitement in the game, it's all but over. The first half was a slog and Bama went into the locker room with a 10-0 lead and then came out and started pounding the Spartans in the third quarter.

Calvin Ridley capped off a ten-play, 82-yard drive with a touchdown to start the second half and then Jones added his slashing punt return after the teams alternated punts. It was the fourth time this season Jones has taken one back, and the first time he crossed up a punter with a little jump step and cut.

But Bama was not done yet. After a quick three and out from Michigan State, Jones returned the punt to midfield where Jake Coker promptly found Ridley again, this time for 50 yards and a 31-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

And that's pretty much all you need to know about that.
