For Nostalgia's Sake, Just Watch Recently Announced HOF'er Tracy McGrady Drain 13 Points in 33 Seconds

He sat out for a sizable chunk of those seasons along the way, but man. Tracy McGrady on a healthy day? Impossible to beat.

Today, it was announced that Tracy McGrady would grace the walls of the Basketball Hall of Fame—and deservedly so. The two-time NBA scoring champion from Central Florida who went pro out of high school put on some memorable performances in his day, including a 62-point game against the Wizards. But perhaps nothing distills his ability to light up the net more than this video of T-Mac putting up 13 points in 33 seconds for a jaw-dropping comeback against the Spurs in 2004.

By the time McGrady dropped his first three of the set, the clock hit 35 seconds. Somehow, impossibly, a few possessions and three more threes later—including a four-point play—McGrady had erased what started out as an eight-point deficit that later required all 13 of his points to clinch the win. His final shot drained with roughly two seconds left. That's 0.39 points per second. Yikes.

But don't take my word for it:

It's not just the numbers, though. It's the look of some of those shots, taken from seemingly impossible angles with off-kilter positioning that makes it a particularly spectacular run. The four point play in particular features a deftly-used screen, a behind-the-back crossover, and a calculated lean into his defender for the foul—just centimeters before touching back down to the ground.

McGrady, 37, played a 15-year career for the the Magic, Rockets, Raptors, Pistons, Knicks, Hawks, and eventually the team that he smoked that night in December of '04, the Spurs. He sat out for a sizable chunk of those seasons along the way, but man. Tracy McGrady on a healthy day? Impossible to beat.
