No. 7 Seed Michigan Knocks Off No. 2 Seed Louisville in Last-Second Showdown

D.J. Wilson finished things off with a gorgeous block to snuff out all the Cardinals' hopes. Wolverines are moving on up the ladder.

No. 7 seed Michigan pulled off a tidy little upset against No. 2 seed Louisville in a back and forth ending that surely left to some stubby fingernails. The game seemed almost a given for the Cardinals, as Louisville—with all their height—was tearing through the Wolverines defense, putting down nasty dunks like this to make a halftime score of 36-28.

But ultimately—Michigan, whose harrowing plane crash and general likable underdog nature has made them tournament sweethearts—pulled off the victory thanks to some heroics from D.J. Wilson. Wilson not only lit up the scoreboard with the Wolverines' final four points (free throws), but also finished things off with a gorgeous block to snuff out all the Cardinals' hopes. Moving on up the ladder.
