Who Wants to See Miami Hurricanes Head Coach Mark Richt in an Italian Jeans Commercial from 1982?

Mark Richt jumping rope in a 1982 ad for Italian blue jeans, anyone?

Everybody? Good, because that is what you are looking at. Long before he was the head football coach at Georgia and now Miami, Mark Richt was a backup quarterback at The U with time to kill and jeans to sell. Richt apparently answered a casting call for a commercial for Jesus Jeans, an Italian clothing line that was being filmed on campus.

Richt was a senior at the time, and according to a co-star that spoke to the Palm Beach Post, "the chicks paid him a lot of attention" on set. Who can blame them, look at that form!

The commercial is pretty weird, with a lot of close up shots of butts and crotches, but it doesn't appear to have ever aired here in the States. Michael Scott Sheerin, who is the fellow student who noted the ladies' interest in Richt, had never seen it before and only saw it when he searched for it on YouTube after Miami hired Richt back in December. Sheerin was a lifeguard at Miami and responded to a prior item from the Post regarding Richt's late-night break-ins at the pool to practice diving and informed the writer of the commercial's existence. Thank God for that.
