The Knicks hired Isiah Thomas to lead the WNBA's Liberty and defended the hiring by questioning the guilty verdict in the Anucha Brown Sanders sexual harassment case.

If you are looking for yet another reason why the Knicks, Madison Square Garden, and James Dolan are the trash, gasoline, and flame of the sports world, look no further than this statement from the team regarding the recent re-hiring of Isiah Thomas. The Knicks announced earlier that Thomas was being brought back into the fold as team president of the New York Liberty (owned by Madison Square Garden and Jim Dolan) "with responsibility for basketball and business operations."

Thomas had been with the Liberty since January in an advisory role, but now he will be in charge of a WNBA team that plays under the same umbrella as the Knicks. If you recall when last we saw him at the Garden, he was found guilty by a New York jury of sexually harassing a subordinate woman, Anucha Brown Sanders. Now he's in charge of a whole team of women. Sensing the backlash, the Knicks had the above to say, which, when reduced to its most base form is: "Sure, a jury found Isiah and the Knicks guilty but a.) we don't believe that, b.) besides, it was our fault, not his, and c.) there were no punitive damages, so…."

The people running the show at MSG re-hired Isiah, and released that statement. For real.
