Jack Eichel Goes Coast to Coast and Buries Filthy Game Winner

Don't sleep on Jack.

The spotlight has been bright on the NHL's young guns this season, and Jack Eichel wants a piece of it.

As Connor McDavid is on his way to potentially his first career Art Ross and MVP, super rookies Auston Matthews, Patrik Laine and Mitch Marner headline the deepest race for the Calder Trophy we've seen in over a decade. Eichel, meanwhile, is making sure his name doesn't get lost in the crowd when discussing the game's best young players.

It's pretty damn hard to cast Eichel aside when he continues to produce absurd highlights, like Tuesday's gorgeous game-winning goal. Here's another angle of it:

After picking up the puck deep in his own end and taking a moment to survey the ice, Eichel turned on the jets and went end to end in a hurry, finishing it off by firing a rocket of a wrist shot off one leg for the overtime winner. Eichel's second tally of the game capped off a mini comeback by the Sabres, who scored a couple quick ones in the final six minutes of the third to overcome a late two-goal deficit.

Eichel's game winner brought him up to 12 goals on the season, and the 2015 No. 2 overall pick now has 21 points in 26 games since returning with a vengeance from a high-ankle sprain in early December. The Sabres, meanwhile, are now tied with six other teams (yes, six) for last place in the Eastern Conference, yet only four points back of the Maple Leafs for the final wild-card spot.

Don't sleep on Jack, man.
