Sad Bryce Harper and Rowdy Max Scherzer Perfectly Sum Up the Stanley Cup Final

Bryce Harper may want a do-over.

The Las Vegas native who now calls D.C. home while plying his craft with the Washington Nationals had a choice to make before the Stanley Cup Final: Either back the team representing the city where he's spent the entirety of his MLB career, or stick with his beloved Golden Knights—the NHL expansion franchise that became the first major professional sport to take hold in Sin City.

He's been a staunch supporter of Vegas' NHL team since Day 1, but as the time ticked down on a 6-2 drubbing at the hands of the Capitals in Game 4, Harper, alongside his wife Kayla, looked very sad like the rest of the Golden Knights fan base as the team slipped to the brink of elimination.

Meanwhile, fellow Nationals' star Max Scherzer and Ryan Zimmerman were fully behind the Capitals, and boy were they ever having a time. Chosen as the Capital One 'Fans of the Game,' prior to puck drop, the right-handed ace and first baseman were in the crowd deeply embedded with the common folk while decked out in full hockey gear from head-to-toe.

Alongside some dude with a red beard and a giant blow horn, the two teammates led a "Go Caps Go" chant while 19,000-plus very rowdy, and hopefully very drunk, fans lost their shit en route to the Caps taking a convincing 3-1 series lead.

One glimpse at the contrasting reactions of the Nationals stars—jubilation from Scherzer and Zimmerman and the blank, shocked look of Harper—says just about all you need to know about how this Stanley Cup Final is going. The Capitals can close it out and put an end to Vegas' Cinderella season with a win on Thursday, and capture the franchise's first Stanley Cup in the process.
