Marcus Smart Injured Himself by Punching a Picture Frame

He was apparently pissed about the loss against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Apparently, Celtics guard Marcus Smart didn't take too well to losing to the Lakers 108-107 on Tuesday. Understandable—they're a bottom-barrel Western Conference team right now. This all was compounded by the fact that he missed a three-pointer in the final seconds, with a teammate open for a better shot. But it turns out he was so pissed that he drove his fist into a hotel picture frame, causing him to require stitches and sit out for two weeks.

Reports about injuries that happen between games tend to be kind of vague, with no one telling you anything in particular about how, when, and why. And the cause of injury was kept under wraps for two days; Brad Stevens just said he had a cut on his right hand that required stitches. But Smart decided to out himself on social media about the cause.

You've never seen a man so sorry about an encounter with a picture frame. I wonder what kind of corny-ass landscape print was in it.

Smart is an integral part of the defense that so frequently has picked the Warriors' lock over the past couple of years, and will miss out on their big, battle-of-the-coasts matchup on Saturday.

Sure, he fucked up—and got fucked up. But you should have seen the picture frame.
