Mets Fans Step Back from the Ledge: Matt Harvey Only Had a Pissing Problem

What a relief.

You know that feeling of relief when you go to the bathroom after having to hold it in for too long? That's how Mets fans feel right now. Weirdly enough, it's also partly to blame for how we got here in the first place. Matt Harvey was back in camp this morning and he filled everyone in on what caused his mystery doctor's appointment: a bladder infection caused clotting and discolored urine. It's not a big deal (so he says), but he was pretty unnerved by the whole thing, which is understandable. You start peeing weird things and it just seems like something's gone terribly wrong.

Here's some more reporting from camp:

WFAN's Ed Coleman reports that Matt Harvey's condition is blood clots in his bladder, but considered not serious. #Mets

Harvey says he had a bladder infection that prompted clots. Got tested, cleared for light activities. OK for Opening Day.

Harvey says the blood clot in his bladder was caused by "holding in my urine too long instead of using the restroom." So, um, yeah. #Mets

Matt Harvey also chided people for the "nasty things" they speculated his condition might be. He's fine now. #Mets
— Anthony DiComo (@AnthonyDiComo) March 29, 2016

Harvey: "People didn't know what was going on, so reading nasty things about what it might be isn't very nice. I'm glad we figured it out."

To be fair, blood clots in your bladder causing discolored urine is waaaay nastier than anything I read on the subject. But anyway, the Young Guns are back at full strength and Harvey said he will be "completely fine" to make his Opening Day start. He may even throw a couple innings tomorrow.
