Please Enjoy Marv Albert Butchering Giannis Antetokounmpo's Name

Marv Albert is one of the greats, but even the greats have their off nights.

Legendary announcer Marv Albert may be in his 50th year of calling NBA games, but even the greats have an Achilles heel. And like Achilles himself, Albert's crushing weakness just so happens to be Greek—Giannis Antetokounmpo, the All-Star with the name he just cannot pronounce.

Just listen to the defeat in Albert's voice as he again and again stumbles haphazardly over "Antetokounmpo." At one point he almost says "AntetoKukoč," as if he were subconsciously pining for those halcyon days of calling the 1990s Chicago Bulls on NBC. (Cue "Roundball Rock" theme.)

It would be one thing if Antetokounmpo were just some random scrub Albert might have to announce once in awhile on TNT, but the Greek Freak was starting in the freakin' All-Star Game. It's probably time to learn how to pronounce his name. Try studying from Giannis himself.
