For the fifth year in a row, the Kentucky Derby favorite won it all—a noble steed by the name of Always Dreaming. In the 143rd installment of the legendary race, Always Dreaming, ridden by jockey John Velazquez, edged out the competition at 4-1 odds. Things were fairly sodden on the grounds, as Always Dreaming crossed the finish line at 2:03.59 and Velazquez accepted the roses for the second time in his career.
