Kyle Schwarber Uses Prodigious Tummy to Make Diving Catch in Stands

The Cubs big beefy boy belly flopped onto the wall down the left field line and tumbled into the stands to make the catch.

The New York Yankees and the Chicago Cubs played 18 innings at Wrigley Field last night that concluded in fairly underwhelming fashion: two bunts, and two throwing errors accounted for the winning run. But Cubs pork tenderloin Kyle Schwarber in left field provided some excitement for those still watching past the standard nine innings.

In the top of the 12th, with the switch hitting Chase Headley batting lefty, Schwarber, expecting Headley to pull, shaded over to center, which left some significant space open along the left field line. Headly flared one right into that empty space and Schwarbs got on his horse and started hoofing for the line. He got to the wall and, ever so elegantly, slid his prodigious tummy across the wall as his momentum sent him tumbling into the stands.
