Red Sox AAA Team Bans People Named 'Tyler' and 'Austin' for Yankees Series

The Pawtucket Red Sox are also granting free entry to anyone named "Joe" or "Kelly" for an "Evil Empire Weekend" series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. It's all about balance.

Sorry, Tylers and Austins—no dice for you in Rhode Island. The Red Sox's Triple-A affiliate, the Pawtucket Red Sox, is still a little bit sore about the brawl that happened between their big-kid MLB team and the New York Yankees. And since they believe Yankees first baseman Tyler Austin sparked the whole thing, the Pawtucket Sox have decided to take drastic measures: ban people named either "Tyler" or "Austin" from entering the stadium.

Minor League teams are always pulling ridiculous promos, but they usually include a prize, or free tattoos, or something generally positive and goofy. But these Pawtucket Sox are salty and decided to take something away. And since it's their "Evil Empire Weekend," I guess they needed to seek balance in the force, so they decided to let in fans named "Joe" or "Kelly" for free since he is now the hero of Beantown.

It's kind of like your little brother coming in to beat up your class bully. I'm sure the Yankees are really smarting from this sick burn from Pawtucket.

Oh, and in case you missed the scuffle between Joe Kelly and Tyler Austin—benches cleared after Austin slid hard into second, but punches weren't thrown until Kelly hit him with a pitch—you can relive the magic here below:
