'Bitch Better Have My Money' Plays During Warmup of NWHL Game After Announcement of Salary Cuts

This great troll job was in response to the league's poor handling over its sudden decision to cut player salaries in half.

Whoever you are, sweet mystery DJ, you are the real MVP.

Just days after the National Women's Hockey League confirmed cuts to player salaries, Rihanna's "Bitch Better Have My Money" blasted through the speakers of the HarborCenter in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon.

In what can be slated as one of the better and more creative troll jobs we have seen in sports this year, the arena DJ for the Buffalo Beauts unleashed the famous Rihanna track during pregame warmups of the Beauts' game against the Boston Pride. The clever DJ wasn't done there, either.

Aaand the Pride and Beauts come back out for the second to the tune of 'We're Not Gonna Take It.' — angelica renée (@ReinaDeLaIsla)November 20, 2016

The music selection was in response to Thursday's announcement that NWHL commissioner Dani Rylan had informed players of imminent salary cuts by as much as 50 percent. Rylan later admitted that the NWHL players' association was not involved in the decision. In fact, the players were not informed at all, which caused justified outrage from supporters of the league.

The four-team NWHL was reincarnated in 2015 after the original NWHL went defunct in 2007. Currently, there are franchises in New York, Boston, Buffalo and Connecticut.
