Mets Prospect Makes Absurd Catch on Bat Flying Toward his Face

Luis Guillorme made just about the smoothest catch you'll ever see. It was a flying bat.

This is just about the smoothest shit I've ever seen. Mets prospect Luis Guillorme had himself a nice, front-row seat for today's spring training game against the Miami Marlins and, luckily for him (and his teammates), he was locked in on the action.

Adeiny Hechavarria was up at bat in the second inning and lost grip on his bat, sending it helicoptering into the Mets dugout. Guillorme, cool as ice, held his position and with one hand, reached back to catch the bat by the very handle Hechavarria lost. He then pulled it back like he was He-Man unsheathing the Sword of Grayskull.

It was a very suave move, and at least one of his teammates should be thanking him. As soon as Brandon Nimmo saw the bat was loose, he ran for cover. Unfortunately, he ran right into the bat's flight path. But for Guillorme's quick and soft hands, he might have taken it to the dome.

There is currently no score in this game but who cares, it's spring training.
