If there were any good reason to stop a boat race, a bomb just might be it. The 163rd Boat Race—between Oxford vs. Cambridge—is scheduled to take place Sunday, and organizers are scrambling to make sure the course will be safe for rowers, which includes making sure no one detonates a bomb from WWII, according to the BBC.This explosive time capsule appears to be a leftover from the war, which ended in 1945, but is still plaguing the Thames. The bomb was spotted by a a sailor on Saturday, and is likely 91 years younger than the Boat Race itself. Police say that it's too early to tell how the bomb will affect the race, but will try and send in a bomb squad at low tide, estimated to take place at 1am BST, to investigate.[Editor's note: While April Fools is celebrated in the UK, the BBC is a far too serious a source to play games.]
