Former Australasian rugby internationals Ali Williams and James O'Connor were arrested by French police while scoring cocaine outside a Paris nightclub over the weekend.

Williams - a former All Black lock - and O'Connor - a talented ex-Wallabies outside back - were reported, by La Depeche, to be purchasing two grams of coke. They were understood to be held in Paris police cells overnight.

They have been since charged for possession of the drug, which, in France, carries a sentence of up to a year in jail or around NZ$5500.

It isn't the first time either Williams - who was living in Paris, playing for French club team Racing Metro 92 - or O'Connor have been in trouble. Williams was sent home from a Blues tour to South Africa in 2007, after a rowdy late night drinking session and lack of respect for team management.

O'Connor, meanwhile, hasn't played for Australia for four years he was stood down after a drunken row that saw him booted out of Perth airport. He plays for Toulon. O'Connor has a reputation as a "party boy".

The captain of Racing Metro 92, Henry Chavancy, said Williams actions has tarnished their team's reputation - and has already suspended the Kiwi.

ALL BLACK BOOZED: DAN CARTER CAUGHT DRINK DRIVING IN PARIS

"It's a new affair that is tarnishing the club's image … [Williams is] someone I appreciate a lot and I'm not going to hound him without knowing the ins and outs of this story," Rugby365 reported.

"He's a big boy. If he has to take [responsibility for] his actions, he will."

The incident comes just over a week after former All Black legend Dan Carter was arrest for drunk driving in Paris, as New Zealand rugby's recent year of players behaving badly seems to be extending on - and on.
