Kiwis Jake and Zane Robertson have become the first twins to both run a half marathon in an hour or less.

Jake joined his brother over the weekend, by completing a half marathon in Lisbon, Portugal in exactly 60 minutes. Zane finished one in Japan in 2015 in 59 minutes and 47 seconds.

"Training was very good so I knew I was capable of 59 (minutes)," Robertson told media. "I knew if they softened with the pace I was capable of a win. I was aiming for the win here.

"I thought it would be good enough to get the (New Zealand) record. It wasn't but I'm so grateful for the win."
