Melo Signing Jerseys Through a Rio Gym Door is What It's All About, Folks

Just showing some love to Brazilian kids who showed up to watch a supposedly closed Team USA Basketball practice.

Imagine you're a young kid growing up in Rio de Janeiro and you follow the NBA. You follow the season, and you've bought some jerseys just to show how much love you have for the game. So how pumped are you going to be when Team USA shows up to practice in your home town? There's no LeBron (sorry kid stuffing the Cavs jersey through the door in the video above), there's no Curry, but there is legend and nice-guy Carmelo Anthony to ink up your shirt.

Today, some Brazilian kids in Rio peeked through the gap above the door where Team USA was practicing, got a glimpse at the stars, and started stuffing their jerseys through in hopes of Melo penning down his autograph. One savvy kid came prepared with a Knicks jersey, which no doubt pleased the 6'8" forward and the kid alike. Plenty of "thank yous" going around.

ESPN's Marc Stein was on hand to catch another angle of the adorable exchange.

On second thought, that was supposed to be a closed practice that those kids were peeping in on. Maybe they know too much…
