Fan Makes Outstanding Catch Despite Interference from a Flying Yoenis Cespedes

This fan's concentration never broke, even with Yoenis Cespedes flying into the area.

You can't doubt the heart of Yoenis Cespedes. With virtually no shot of ever even getting leather on this foul ball, Cespedes threw caution to the wind and just leapt into the stands to try to get this foul ball off the bat of Ichiro Suzuki. Despite clearing the fence and landing on one unfortunate gentleman in the first row, Cespedes came up short by a foot at least. The fan in the black hoodie made the catch and hung on despite the jostling.

Here's another angle at full speed, please enjoy the triumphant fan raising the ball as Cespedes rolls around on the fans below him.

Cespedes was a little shaken up after his adventure, but he stayed in the game and had a much easier time getting the out on another Ichiro popup on the very next pitch. You would have thought the fan who took a knee to the chest would have been the worse off of the two, but then Cespedes got dinged up again in the eighth inning when he took a Bryan Morris fastball to the shoulder. At least the Mets won.
