California Rep. Adam Schiff Loses Bet, Sings "Meet the Mets" on the House Floor

Our tax dollars at work.

Representative Adam Schiff (D) from California's 28th Congressional district—that's Los Angeles—appears to be in his own personal hell. The man lost a bet to Rep. Steve Israel (D) of New York's 3rd Congressional district (Brooklyn)—seemingly because the Dodgers lost to the Mets in the NLDS—and went to the House floor to sing a remarkably pained, man-in-hostage-video-claims-to-be-being-treated-well version of "Meet the Mets."

Big shout-out to whoever has the job at C-SPAN to comb through hours of that mundane B.S. to find something as weird and uncomfortable as this. It must have felt like the day after Christmas, what with the Benghazi hearings having gone down yesterday. Schiff himself played a part in those painstaking hearings, too. No wonder his delivery of the line, "guaranteed to have the time of your life" couldn't have sounded less convincing.

Between the Benghazi hearings and Schiff's rendition of "Meet the Mets," we have now witnessed not one but two perfect examples of our tax dollars at work.
