Blue Jays Fulfill David Price's Wish, Fill Locker with Popcorn

All-Star players get what they want.

David Price is a Blue Jay, if you haven't heard.

The Detroit Tigers traded the ace left-hander to Toronto on Thursday for a package consisting of three pitching prospects, headlined by hippie Daniel Norris. You're probably familiar with some of Norris' work, like how to live out of a van during spring training. In all seriousness, the slumping Tigers got a nice haul for the rental and helped replenish a farm system in need of work.

Price gave a shout out to Drake, Toronto's finest, after learning of the move, and he and his niece seemed excited about the trade, which came days after the Blue Jays acquired five-time All-Star shortstop Troy Tulowitzki and 21-year veteran LaTroy Hawkins from the Colorado Rockies. Sporting a career-best 2.53 ERA over 146 innings, the 2012 Cy Young winner had one request for his arrival in Toronto—he wanted the Rogers Centre's mighty fine popcorn waiting for him at his locker.

That's the good part about his day. Price blew a tire on his drive to Toronto, keeping him stalled on the side of the road and delaying his introductory press conference at Rogers Centre. The car has since been towed away. The good news is that Price is OK, and appears slated to make his debut Monday against the Minnesota Twins, whom the Blue Jays trail by two games for the American League's second wild-card spot.
