Cincinnati Finally Breaks Through Kentucky Block Party

How many shots can a team block in one possession? If it's Kentucky, the answer is "a lot."

Kentucky blocked four shots on this one Cincinnati possession—including two guys blocking the same shot—and the Bearcats just kept throwing the ball at the rim hoping against hope one would finally drop. One finally did, and it was about the only way it was going to happen on that sequence: redirecting a blocked shot volleyball-style.

First Shaq Thomas tried to go strong to the hole and got his shot stuffed by Trey Lyles and Karl-Anthony Towns. Octavius Ellis followed up and, while technically it was a jump ball, that shit got stuffed, too.

Then Ellis again tried to go strong to the hole and got his shot stuffed by Lyles.

Finally, Troy Caupain did not try to go strong to the hole, but he got his shot stuffed by Andrew Harrison anyway. The ball arced up back to him, however, and he just pushed it back toward the rim in one motion because the shot clock was about to expire. Did he get it off in time? Maybe not, but it didn't matter, Kentucky coasted to the Sweet Sixteen with a 64-51 win.
