The crazy thing about plays like this is that, when it's happening, players know there is no way it will end well. It's not like Alex Gordon went sprinting to foul territory and before taking his leap thought to himself good thing there are all those fluffy pillows and down blankets there to cushion my fall.That's a really cool rule baseball has. He knew full well that his landing would be full of people with pointy limbs and hard skulls and maybe an empty seat or two. But he did it anyway and knocked one fan on his ass and landed right next to a little kid before tumbling over the first row of seats.The play came in the bottom of the sixth at U.S. Cellular Field with the Royals leading 3-0, and even the White Sox fans had to applaud the effort. Chicago fans had more to cheer later in the inning as the Sox went on to score five runs before Kansas City record the final two outs.[MLB]
