David Ortiz Has a Personalized Golf Cart for Final Home Spring Training Game

Fare the well, Spring Training David Ortiz. You were too good for this exhibition world.

Today, friends, is a bittersweet day. The end of an era, really. Never again will David Ortiz, Big Papi himself, spit into his batting gloves and take five years to step into the batter's box within the hallowed grounds of Jet Blue Park at Fenway South. The Red Sox play their final home game of Spring Training today, which means this was the last chance for many in [Wherever The Fuck], Florida to catch Ortiz play in an exhibition game.

Unfortunately for the fans, Ortiz struck out in his final at bat. But after Hanley Ramirez doubled, Luis Tiant and Jim Rice scooted out of the bullpen in a golf cart adorned with Ortiz's name and number, and a Big Papi vanity license plate—Florida law mandates all bullpen golf carts must be registered and tagged—to pick the slugger up and whisk him away to the great Spring Training Cornfield in center as "Lean on Me" played over the PA. Hard to choose a favorite part of this, but it's either Rice absolutely laying on the gas, or Dallas "Sun's Out, Guns Out" Braden enjoying the show.

Opening Day is not until next week.
