Alabama Picks Six Because It's Alabama and That's Just What They Do

Alabama had to pick six because their lives are dope and they do dope shit.

Watching Alabama pick off Washington right before the half reminded me of a Dave Chappelle interview on Jimmy Fallon, where he talks about the first time he ever met Kanye West. In it, Chappelle describes the moment he knew Kanye was going to be a star; Kanye received a phone call and had to cut it short. He told the person why: "Cause I'm at the edit for the Dave Chappelle Show, watching sketches that no one's seen before," Kanye said. "Cause my life is dope and I do dope shit."

Such is the way with Alabama football.

Washington came out the blocks with some fire, drawing first blood on a touchdown, thanks to a tidy stutter step from Dante Pettis and a dime pass from Jake Browning.

But Alabama then twice thwarted their momentum—first with a strip and a recovered fumble, and then with this nasty pick six from Ryan Anderson. The game isn't over, but it's attention to details like these that make Alabama the unstoppable brute force that they are.
