Romelu Lukaku Gets the Muppet Treatment

Mah-nah Mah-nah.

Four days ago, a father and son duo out of Yorkshire posted a video in association with their pretty adorable father-son Everton fan blog. Brad Spotto, the father, is an American-born TV and film producer who has worked with the likes of Disney—so it makes sense why the voiceover and cutaways are fairly smooth.

The video takes you through pretty much the whole team (Tim Howard even gets a mumbly shoutout, despite Brad's British-accented 8-year-old son Joe blasphemously calling to bench him), anchored by the call-and-response chorus of "Romelu—Romelu Lukaku!—Romelu—doo, doo, doo, doo."

For the most part, the frazzle-haired muppet's suggestion of any other player turns off the Snowths—they only seem to agree with all things Romelu. Makes sense, based on the nearly singlehanded performance Lukaku threw down against Southampton this morning. He's a G-D one-man team.

A little backstory on the song: the Spottos got the idea from a fan video made for Pittsburgh Steeler's Troy Polamalu, who, obviously got the idea from the Muppets, who not-so-obviously got the idea from an Italian sex documentary called Svezia: Inferno e Paradiso. Sex documentary, eh? Sounds suspicious. Not really.
