College Basketball Game Devolves into Brawl, Complete With Steel Chair Shot

A ridiculous brawl broke out between rival college basketball teams in Tennessee. One dude hit a player with a damned steel chair.

We've seen brawls between opposing teams before, but I don't know if we've ever seen one quite like what went down between Division-III rivals LeMoyne-Owen and Lane College last weekend. It's hard to even say it started off chippy, but we'll start there and move forward to a finish worthy of the WWE. According to alumni who spoke with WMC Action News in Tennessee, the game had been played aggressively by both sides. Then one player was tripped and all hell broke loose.

The action began on the far side of the court and soon it was just a flurry of fists and bodies all over the place. The teams rumbled with each other and then even members of the crowd got into it, with one man going full heel and hitting a player with a steel chair. Look at this shit!

The game was canceled at that point and, according to a statement from the The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, there is no intended makeup date. The SIAC also said it was starting an investigation and "all responsible parties in connection with this incident shall be subject to most severe sanctions authorized by conference rules and bylaws."
