John Scott Scores Goal in All-Star Game, "Fights" Patrick Kane

John Scott had himself a helluva weekend.

John Scott, who was voted in as a joke by NHL fans much to the NHL's chagrin, has been the star of All-Star Weekend. He got a huge ovation during introductions at the Skills Competition event last night, right before Patrick Kane got booed out of the building. He got another ovation when he first appeared in the Hardest Shot portion of the night, and now tonight he's scored a goal in the game.

After fans voted him in,both the NHL and his then current team, the Phoenix Coyotes, asked him to withdraw himself from the game. He declined, and he was subsequently traded to the Montreal Canadiens and sent down to their AHL affiliate. This made him ineligible for the game. The NHL eventually reversed course because it was clearly a stupid decision not to let him play, and made him captain of the pacific division. An enforcer with five career goals to his name that only die-hards knew of is now an NHL All Star captain, a goalscorer (twice), and feel good story.

Then after Patrick Kane scored a goal, he sprinted over to Scott, dropped his gloves, and they engaged in fake fight.

Then he absolutely killed Jeremy Roenick, who copped to being wrong about Scott's participation in the event.
