At around 9 PM Friday night in Irvine, California, a man was spotted in someone's backyard, wearing no clothes and carrying a brown paper bag that contained marijuana and something with which to smoke it. A resident saw him walking through the backyard and called the police. When the officers arrived, they soon identified the man, who was still naked, as former Raiders and USC quarterback Todd Marinovich. As the Orange County Register reports:"The 47-year-old was cited for trespassing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, Irvine police Commander Mike Hallinan said Monday."TMZ also reports that police found meth in his possession, which would explain the distinction between possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance in the listed charges (and also, probably, the nudity).Marinovich has a history of drug abuse dating back to his high school days. His career with the Raiders was completely derailed by drug addiction after just two years in the league.[OC Register]
