Sidney Crosby Would Make a Mighty Fine Baseball Player

The Penguins superstar keeps batting pucks out of mid-air for goals. He couldn't be any worse at baseball than Tebow, right?

Everybody knows Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is the best hockey player in the world. But what about baseball? It appears the world-class athlete would be pretty good at that, too.

On Monday night against the Arizona Coyotes, Crosby scored his league-leading 21st goal of the season, redirecting an Evgeni Malkin slapshot before batting the rebound out of mid-air and into the back of the net. The Penguins went on to defeat the Coyotes 7-0, but no goal was better than Crosby's home run swing. Just look at how confused Coyotes goaltender Louis Domingue was after finding out No. 87 snuck one past him.

Believe it or not, Crosby already batted one out of mid-air and into the back of the net earlier this month, making the goal against the Coyotes his second home run swing of December. The first came against the Dallas Stars on Dec. 1 when he scored the game-winner with an equally impressive goal, swatting a flying puck from behind the net into goaltender Antti Niemi and then into the back of the net.

So yeah… Crosby's goal last night was absurd — Hockey Players Club (@hockeyplyrsclub)December 2, 2016

Crosby has had a near perfect 2016 year, winning the Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, and World Cup gold, in which he also took home MVP honours for. At this point in his storied career, the only thing left for Crosby to do is pull a Tim Tebow and try his hand at baseball.

By the looks of his swing at PNC Park during batting practice a few years back, he's already light years ahead of Tebow. He has the hand-eye coordination needed to excel in baseball, and apparently has the power, too.

Too bad good Canadian boys like Crosby stick to hockey.
