LSU's D.J. Chark Makes a Catch So Big, He Ejects From His Helmet

Chark received the 47-yard bomb from underneath the desperate swipes of his coverage, only to explode out of his gear like a tossed muppet losing his hat.

LSU wideout D.J. Chark is out here, looking like some kind of jet fighter pilot with his ability to eject from heated situations. After LSU QB Danny Etling rattled off a 47-yard bomb, Chark received the ball from underneath the desperate swipes of his coverage, only to explode out of his gear like a tossed muppet losing his hat.

Because his helmet came off, Chark had to sit out the next play, but no worries—they scored three downs later. And sure enough, the game later ended in LSU's 29-9 victory. Yeah, sure, you could say it was a watered down game, because Fournette was out, and because Louisville's Heisman-winner Lamar Jackson was neutered by like a gajillion sacks. But at least we can walk away with this Chark highlight. Kaboom.
