In the second inning against the Mets, Nationals third baseman Yunel Escobar look more like Sgt. Elias in Platoon than he did a baseball player. While trying to check swing on a Noah Syndergaard pitch, he must have tweaked his wrist and let the bat go flying. Then he took a long, tortured fall to the ground, where he remained for some time.He eventually gathered himself and tried to continue the at bat, but he couldn't do it. He swung at one more pitch, fouled it off and immediately walked to the dugout.
Escobar left the game and Dan Uggla struck out batting in his place.[MLB]
