HOF Voter Gary Myers: Terrell Owens Didn't Get in Because He was a Locker Room "Cancer"

Some sound logic here.

On the one hand, who cares about Halls of Fame? Inclusion or exclusion from a sports museum doesn't change how good or bad a specific athlete was at his chosen sport. On the other hand, when the reason for inclusion or exclusion is this patently stupid, it drives you nuts.

Gary Myers, columnist for the New York Daily News and author of books like Brady vs Manning: The Untold Story of the Rivalry That Transformed the NFL or The Catch: One Play, Two Dynasties, and the Game That Changed the NFL, appeared on the Dan Patrick Show earlier today and explained how Marvin Harrison—who might have murdered someone—could get voted into the NFL HOF and while Terrell Owens did not. Myers has a vote and was in the room, so he explained the discussion on T.O., which was lengthy. At the end of the day, the voters felt his locker room presence was a huge detriment and they punished him for it.

Which brings us to perhaps the most preposterous rationale for not electing someone to a Hall of Fame:

"He's a Hall of Fame player that five teams couldn't wait to get rid of."
