Draymond Green was arrested and charged with assault on Sunday in East Lansing after an altercation with someone at a local bar. When the news first broke, details were scarce, but Yahoo's Ball Don't Lie obtained a copy of the police report, and it appears he had multiple run-ins with Michigan State defensive back Jermaine Edmondson. Green has not addressed the matter except to say that he expects it to be resolved shortly. Edmondson did provide his account, however, in a written statement to police, which you can read above. If true, they are not great.

Edmondson claims that Green bumped into him at a bar Saturday night and the two got into a heated exchange where, at one point, Green asked him "do you know who I am?" Edmondson then claims that he was suddenly "choked out" by one of Green's friends and then hauled off by bar security. He then heard his girlfriend scream and she claimed that she was choked as well.

The next day, the couple went out again for Edmondson's birthday and ran into Green at a different bar. Green allegedly walked over to them and leered at Edmondson's girlfriend before engaging in another discussion that turned violent. Edmondson claims he was trying to diffuse the situation when Green punched him in the jaw. The police report described it as an open-hand slap.

According to the police report, Edmondson refused medical attention and did not show any visible injuries, but was holding his jaw. At the time of his statement he was still complaining of neck and jaw pain, as well as a headache.

Apparently, Edmondson was initially going to drop the charges and just move on from it, but according to a writer covering the Spartans, he felt offended—as you can see by his references to the altercation occurring in front of his peers—and decided to change his mind.

A good source tells me that Edmondson was originally going to drop charges against Green to keep it quiet… but has since changed his mind.

A source close to the situation tells me that Edmondson changed his mind.
"He feels offended… so he's pressing charges" against Green.

Update: Broncos wide receiver and former Spartan, Bennie Fowler, says he was with Green that night and "at no point, ever, did Draymond punch anyone."
