NCAA Makes Reporter Delete Video of Wichita State Coach's Wife Being Loud

Good morning, here is the dumbest thing you will read today.

Wichita State nearly upset Kentucky in the NCAA tournament on Sunday, but alas, the Wildcats hung on to beat the Shockers 65-62. During the game, according to Kentucky Sports Radio writer Drew Franklin, Lynn Marshall, wife of Wichita State head coach Greg Marshall, was a little too exuberant in cheering on her husband's team. Franklin says she was cursing at Kentucky head coach John Calipari, the referees, and even some players. The Associated Press reports that she was escorted out of the arena after the game.

Franklin took video of Marshall during the game and posted it to Twitter to show how "lit" she was. She is loud and demonstrative during a close game that would have been a fairly sizable upset. Not unlike any other fan at any other sporting event would be. This is now a story, though, because apparently the NCAA tracked Franklin down and made him delete the video. Honestly, watch the video. If I hadn't explained what the video showed, you would not even know what, or why, you were watching.

Someone from the NCAA came and got my name and told me I could no longer tweet about her because "it made her upset." I guess it didn't make anyone else upset when she told Malik Monk to get in the weight room or told Isaiah Briscoe to buy some bigger shorts or told Calipari to "shut the f-ck up" or told Roger Ayers he is garbage or any of the other classy things she yelled between F-bombs.

None of this behavior made it into the video, mind you, but that doesn't even matter now because the NCAA is the Keystone Kops. Franklin apparently re-uploaded the video in the arena and someone tracked him down again in the media room and made him delete it again. This is the internet, however, where nothing ever dies, so of course the video survived. Franklin re-posted it on KSR, and someone created the above twitter account that has all of one tweet to share it as well. And now it's being discussed on a national level, including ESPN's Mike & Mike, specifically because the NCAA made a stink about it. Always remember: the Streisand Effect is very real, even for boring, inconsequential videos.
