Brandon Crawford Hits Grand Slam To Stun Pittsburgh Crowd

Brandon Crawford smacked a grand slam off Edinson Volquez to open the scoring in Pittsburgh.

With the bases loaded in the fourth inning, Brandon Crawford smashed a hanging breaking ball into the right field seats to put the Giants up 4-0 on the Pirates. The home crowd was losing its mind trying to will Edinson Volquez out of the jam, but they were immediately silenced by Crawford.

Volquez gave up back-to-back singles to Pablo Sandoval and Hunter Pence before walking Brandon Belt to load the bases. Volquez started off with a ball, but got Crawford down in the count 1-2. Unfortunately, he let a knuckle curve catch too much of the plate and Crawford drilled it.
