Islanders Fans Poured Beer or Soda on Denis Potvin

Of all the people to dump beer on, Islanders fans chose Denis Potvin.

Yes, that is the Denis Potvin we are talking about. The four-time Stanley Cup champion Denis Potvin who captained the New York Islanders during their dynastic run in the 80s. The Denis Potvin who still gets a "Potvin sucks" chant at New York Rangers games whether or not they are even playing the Islanders. According to the man himself, Islanders fans dumped beer or soda down the Fox Sports Florida broadcast booth.

The Islanders lost a tough one to the Panthers at home last night, with Alex Petrovic netting the game-winner midway through the third period. The series is now tied 2-2 and…maybe Islanders fans are salty? It's obviously hard to tell what exactly happened. We only have the play-by-play of the incident, which came during a post-game wrap-up segment with the camera still showing players spilling off the ice. It's hard to know if it was intentional, or if they even knew it was Denis Potvin they were pouring drinks on if it was intentional, or if they were even Islanders fans, but it happened. Potvin's broadcasting partner Steve Goldstein confirmed it after the fact, noting that Kenny Albert, calling the game for NBCSN, also got tagged.

@KBustillo1 @AlbaneseLaura I think Kenny got a little wet too

I am not a superstitious man but, I dunno, this seems bad for the Islanders.
