The former Winnipeg native has been making relaxed, atmospheric beats for a few years now, after learning how to spin at afterhours gigs. Since trading The Peg for The 6, Alexander says he's been impacted by, "going out, dancing, and discovering Toronto." His relocation (and a few changes of alias) have led Alexander here, with the upcoming release of his latest hip-hop and garage influenced groove of the title track "Don't Go."

Citing Leon Vynehall and Perfume Advert as his influences, the weightless melody behind Alexander's digital single is immediately audible, especially through the B-side, "I Want You Near Me." The release is available for free download today through Bedroomer. Stay tuned for his next EP, Needs, set to release on Hush-Hush on July 13.

Don't miss Hudson Alexander at The Rivoli in Toronto on June 19, as part of NXNE. You can RSVP here.
